Our baby boy is 10 months old!!
I have been a bad blogger, huh? It's hard to keep up with a blog and an on-the-go 10 month old! I haven't been the best historian these last few weeks, which is a shame because it's been pretty eventful. As most of you know, I've turned into a major home-body, but for some reason we've been busy. Not too busy to make it home for naps - that is so important to me! I make it a point to be at home for Brock's naps (and for my sanity). ha! Also, I'm pretty strict about sticking to his 7 o'clock bedtime. I know some people think I'm being too rigid, but he likes to turn in early, and I like having my evenings to relax & spend time with Greg. So, these last 10 months have flown by (every mom says that, huh?) My baby is turning into a sweet, loving little boy. His kisses make me laugh, and I actually look forward to getting him up in the mornings, so I can hug on my little cuddle-bug. Ahhh...I want to remember these sweet days forever. BUT - in between his slobbery kisses and precious smiles, he has been known to throw a tantrum. I guess it's not really a tantrum, but he gets so frustrated. I try so hard to figure out what he wants/needs. It's a challenging situation - trying to have a conversation with a baby.
My parents & grandmother came in for a visit. It's always fun to see them - they love on Brock from the moment they walk in the door to the moment we say our goodbyes. My dad changed a couple of diapers while here, and I think it's so funny how they fight over who's going to get him up (in the morning &/or a nap). They love to see his big smile when they peak over the crib. :) I have to admit, it does melt my heart.
Brock & Granny
Greg put Brock's swing up! We've been going to the park quite a bit lately, and Brock seems to like the swings. It's nice having one in our backyard, but we'll continue to make it to the park too because it's fun to meet other moms & babies enjoying our neighborhood park.
I included this pic because you can kind of see one of Brock's new curls. Ahhh...I love it!
Ok, so for the past few weeks, Brock has been somewhat mobile, but in the last few days, he's figured the whole crawl thing out. It started off with the "inchworm" move a few weeks ago...then the "military crawl" (his favorite) a few days ago...and now he can actually crawl on his hands & knees, but not for very long. He mostly scoots around on his tummy, but he gets around quickly! I am having to step it up a notch to keep up with him & all of the "toys" he finds. In all honesty, I've done a poor job of baby-proofing the house, so this week I'm on it!
We
go up to Greg's office sometimes, so Brock can see his daddy, his grandfather & some of our good friends. I found Brock in his grandfather's chair...helping him out with the family business. Maybe one day he'll work there, and he'll think this picture is funny. Ok, that's it for now. It's way past my bedtime, and I'm pretty tired. I'm looking for a good book to read about discipline for this age, so please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks!
