Mother's Day & Highchair Hangout

My First Mother's Day
I am so in love with this little boy.
I had a nice 1st Mother's Day, but I have to be honest that is wasn't exactly what I thought it was going to be. I guess I had the idea that I was going to be pampered all day & get to do what I wanted when I wanted. ha! In reality, while Greg made (yummy) blueberry pancakes, I fed Brock...put him down for a nap...took a quick shower...got ready...dried my hair (takes forever because it has gotten so long)...made Brock's bottle for church...got Brock up from his nap...changed another poopy diaper...dressed him...packed up all of his stuff...let the dogs out to potty...then I finally got to stuff a pancake in my mouth, and we fled to church! Whew! We dropped Brock off in the nursery, and we headed up to our class. I can't forget to mention that Greg & Brock got me a very nice gift certificate, and I got a beautiful arrangement of flowers from my in-laws. I really don't mean to complain!! It really was a nice day, and one thing is for sure - I am so happy and thankful to be Brock's mom. The Lord has blessed me with a healthy son, and I can't even keep up with the number of times I tell him that I love him in a day. He is so precious.
After church, we had Pei Wei take-out while Brock napped and then raced to the A&M/UT baseball game. Unfortunately, the Ags ran out of time...

Brock with his daddy, grandfather & great-grandmother at the baseball game.

By the way, Brock's 9-month appointment went well. He is a healthy 24 lb., 29 in. baby boy. He's not crawling yet, but he'll get up on his hands & knees and just rock back & forth. He'll stand up & play on his activity table, but I have to be close by because he doesn't have the best balance. As I've said before, he's a great eater. One of his favorites is a mix of chicken, brown rice & peas that I make. And he gets so excited when I say "want a snack"? ha! He really likes my sweet potato fries (a favorite of mine too).

**Highchair Hangout**

It seems like Brock is in his highchair a lot these days. I mean seriously - 3 meals & 2 snacks in one day?

After dinner, I let Brock relax in his highchair to let his tummy settle. I'll give him a book & some toys to keep him busy while I clean the dishes. I looked over, and he was really into his book.

I believe he was about 7 months in the above clip.
I hope it makes you laugh too!

I found this clip & couldn't resist including it in this "highchair hangout" section. He will say mamama & dadadada, but his favorite is nanana. Of course his Nana thinks that is so fun. I then have to remind her that I call bananas "nanas", and he loves those. ha! By the way, last Tuesday, my mom called & asked if she could drive in the next day for a quick visit. I said - heck ya!! It was great to have her around for a few days - she got a lot of "Brock time" in, and I ran errands & worked around the house. Greg & I had a nice date-night at the South Congress Cafe & couldn't help but walk across the street to get a "Hey Cupcake". Yummy! So, I guess you could say it turned out to be a "Mother's Week", which is just fine with me!
